Pledge Manager Opens this Friday!

Hello all! It's been a hot minute but I wanted to get a few things in place before updating. I only plan to update this page if there is important information so you aren't spammed too much. 

The pledge manager will be opening this Friday, where you can pay for shipping and add any extra to your basket. The shipping costs are almost identical to those posted on the Kickstarter page, with a few regions either being a bit more expensive or a bit cheaper. This will only be by about 5% so there is nothing to worry about. 

New Cart Art!

Below you can see the new card art for one of Vee's cards. This is just a taste of the sweeping changes we are making to the look of the cards in FKO based on feedback from the community. As you can see from this image, we are overhauling all of the text-based icons and adding subtle images to the backgrounds of the cards to give them more texture. Let us know what you think in the comments!

The tournament is this Weekend!

That's right! We will be hosting another tournament this weekend called FKO Redemption, in which we will be including, for the first time, a loser's bracket so players have a chance of redemption if they lose their first match. If you want to be involved with the tournament or just the community in general, click here!

134% funded, thank you! What's next?

First off I just want to say a huge thank you from myself and the rest of the team at Crab Studios, what a campaign! To fund was already incredible, to go even further and get 134% funded means a lot and will help improve the quality of the game overall.

What's Next?

For now, we are going to keep this quite brief and defer to the roadmap section of the Kickstarter page.

• Kickstarter Campaign Ends: March 28th, 2023
• Post Kickstarter Development: March 29th, 2023 - April 28th, 2023
• Pledge Manager Opens: April 29th, 2023
• Manufacturing: July 1st, 2023 - October 10th, 2023
• Shipping to Distributor: December 1st, 2023
• Fulfillment to Backers: March 2024

In the next update, we may have some slight changes to some of these dates. For example, the opening of the pledge manager should happen a lot sooner as it should only take up until the end of the week to get it up and running.

Once the update has gone out with any schedule changes to the roadmap above, we plan to update the community once a month on this page. It could end up being more frequent, but at the very least it will be once a month. If you would like to stay more up-to-date on a daily basis, join our discord server here!

(MINI-UPDATE) Stretch goal requirement for AI Fighter as a playable fighter has been reduced!

We have heard you, and we are acting on it!

The stretch goal requirement for the AI Fighter to be available as a playable fighter, and therefore added to the roster with the rest of the fighters, has been reduced from £12,000 to £9,500. We have heard from the community how much they want this stretch goal to be unlocked before the end of the campaign, so we have reduced the goal! If you want to get this stretch goal unlocked, consider sharing the Kickstarter around, telling your friends, and increasing your pledge a small amount to help get us over the line!

Final 24 hours! Puppeteer name reveal! Fan art showcase! Tournament Bracket Update!

Final 24 Hours!

As we head into the final day of the campaign, I am blown away by how much support the campaign has gotten, not just in the last couple of days where we have seen a massive spike in the number of backers, but also in the three weeks leading up to this moment. Words can't express how excited I am for you to get your game and get playing some FKO!

Meet Dr. Viverra! This fighter had 13 votes for their name, with Dr. Dominus coming in a close second. Either would have been a great and apt name for this fighter, but I am really happy with Dr. Viverra.

Dr. Viverra is a puppeteer fighter, the first puppet character to feature in FKO! They can summon robots on the board that all have unique abilities as well as specific actions on their cards. However, once a robot is summoned, Dr. Viverra takes one additional damage for every attack he takes damage from, which can be incredibly punishing and risky against fighters like Spur, or Cage, who can output multiple instances of highly damaging attacks. 

Like all the other fighters, these names were suggested in the Crab Studios discord server. Join to take part in the rapidly growing FKO community, get involved in tournaments, and playtests, have some games with some amazing people, and just generally hang out with a great community!

Yesterday, after Sloth beat Filia with some amazing, high-flying Surge gameplay in the first round of the FKO Rivals tournament, they sent me this! Check it out!

Super awesome to see the community falling in love with these characters enough to draw them. Also, excited to see Sloth take on Ants Mason in the semi-final today... which brings me onto...

FKO Rivals (Day 2) Bracket

As you can see we had a very busy day yesterday on stream, seeing massive ups and downs, with one quarter-final even going the distance to a third match! Today, we shall see the winner of FKO Rivals crowned, and it's going to be interesting to see who that is!

The Puppeteer is a villainous figure in the FKO universe. His line of work involves building robots, purposefully with sentients, only for him to control them anyway. Comment below and let's give this guy the evilest name we can!

FKO Rivals bracket!
